SHINE Books by Jo North help to normalise a range of SEN (Special Educational Needs) conditions within society. They are passionate about taking away the stigma that often comes with Special Education Needs, and believe that educating children from a young age in this area can have a positive impact on acceptance and understanding across society. 10% of all book sales go to charities supporting these conditions.
I had the privilege and pleasure of providing the illustrations for SHINE Books by Jo North. Each book explains the Special Education Needs for 4 of the most prevalent conditions. Dyslexia, Autism, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Epilepsy are explained at a child’s level with compassion and wisdom. I think kids of all ages would benefit enormously from reading the SHINE Books to gain an understanding of the needs of young children with learning challenges.
