Movember 26: Charlie Chaplin

Charlie Chaplin’s Little Tramp struck a chord for countless people all over the world. The character still resonates with society today. The Little Tramp is poignant, quirky and sweet. He had a moustache too and no collection of moustaches would be complete with The Little Tramp.

The Little Tramp. An invention by Charlie Chaplin.

Charlie Chaplin wrote a song that seems to complement the Little Tramp character. It is beautifully sad and yet; hopeful. Just like The Little Tramp.

“Smile
Tho’ your heart is aching

Smile
Even tho’ it’s breaking

When there are clouds in the sky

You’ll get by
If you
Smile through your fear and sorrow

Smile and maybe tomorrow

You’ll see the sun come shining thru for you.

Light up your face with gladness

Hide ev’ry trace of sadness

Altho’ a tear maybe ever so near

That’s the time you must keep on trying

Smile
What’s the use of crying

You’ll find that life is still worth while”
