December Santa Scribble 04

Argos has made life difficult for Santa this year.

A local store called Argos produced a stunning Christmas Ad featuring a dad and daughter drumming up a storm to the Simple Minds song: Don’t You Forget About Me”. Needless to say Argos (or Santa) moved a lot of mini drum kits this Festive Season. Not so sure the parents are as delighted as the kids! 😉

This artwork is a warm-up doodle. You can view other more finished cartoons in my gallery

Movember 28: Groucho Marx

Groucho was one of the Marx Brothers. They were a comedic trio that delighted audiences in the early days of cinema. What amazes me is how distinctive and enduring his persona was. I suspect he somehow tapped into an archetype that we all recognise. Or maybe it was just the eyes, or the hair, or the moustache. Yep, that moustache is unforgettable!

Movember 26: Charlie Chaplin

Charlie Chaplin’s Little Tramp struck a chord for countless people all over the world. The character still resonates with society today. The Little Tramp is poignant, quirky and sweet. He had a moustache too and no collection of moustaches would be complete with The Little Tramp.

The Little Tramp. An invention by Charlie Chaplin.

Charlie Chaplin wrote a song that seems to complement the Little Tramp character. It is beautifully sad and yet; hopeful. Just like The Little Tramp.

“Smile
Tho’ your heart is aching

Smile
Even tho’ it’s breaking

When there are clouds in the sky

You’ll get by
If you
Smile through your fear and sorrow

Smile and maybe tomorrow

You’ll see the sun come shining thru for you.

Light up your face with gladness

Hide ev’ry trace of sadness

Altho’ a tear maybe ever so near

That’s the time you must keep on trying

Smile
What’s the use of crying

You’ll find that life is still worth while”

Daily Doodle Movember 22: Tom Selleck

Tom Selleck of Magum PI is almost today’s Movember moustache doodle.

So close but no cigar! What is it that makes a face distinguishable? This caricature of a younger Tom Selleck feels close but somehow not Tom Selleck. I shall have to try again sometime, but today is going to be a busy one so I must leave it like it is.

I will add it to my gallery of caricatures or cartoons at later date. 😉
